Joe is a friendly and inspiring tutor, specialising in English. Joe feels it is a privilege and a joy to share his lifelong love of literature with students, helping them to enjoy learning, and to achieve the very best results they can. His experience includes English and Maths with Year 1 students, French up to Year 7, 11+ and 13+, and English at GCSE, as well as Oxbridge interview preparation and help with essay writing subjects. Joe is currently helping a student prepare for his 11+ entrance exams to St. Benedict’s and Hampton School next year, and was recently delighted to see one of his 11+ students receive an offer to Caterham School, his first choice.
Joe has experience covering all aspects of the 11+ and 13+ Entrance Exams: English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
Having had a tutor himself, Joe knows the transformative impact some extra support outside of the classroom can have, and works hard to craft lessons that will suit his student’s individual needs.
Joe has a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Oxford, and achieved an MA with Distinction from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He attended Reading School and attained 3 A’s at A-Level. Joe also works as an actor and writer, and runs his own theatre company, which won an award for its debut production this year at VAULT ’17, London’s biggest arts festival. Joe enjoys playing guitar, and is currently learning the harmonica.
