Ben is a qualified teacher with a PGCE (secondary History) from Cambridge University and two years’ experience teaching History at KS3, GCSE and A-Level. He went to Emanuel School where he gained three A-Levels at Grade A, and holds degrees from Edinburgh (MA History, First Class) and Harvard (MA Middle East Studies), where he was awarded a Frank Knox Scholarship.
Ben has many ideas and activities to help students develop in History. For example he can help you to master chronology, teach you strategies to condense and summarise information and teach you how to write effective PEE paragraphs. At GCSE he has taught the AQA and Edexcel exam specs and he has also worked as an examiner for OCR. He also has experience teaching Maths and English at primary level and has prepared students for common entrance exams.
