Alice is an creative, dedicated and fun tutor, with bucketloads of patience and enthusiasm. She believes that each individual student has their own individual needs, and tries to tailor her classes to fit her student’s own personality, encouraging and cultivating the same passion within the student themselves.
For four years, Alice worked at a primary school in Vauxhall, South London. She worked one-on-one with a young boy with autism and speech and language difficulties. This included helping him with his studies during his inclusion time in year five, as well as supporting him in his speech & language classes. Alice both tutored and mentored this young boy, helping him settle in to his class academically and socially, something which required a lot of patience and dedication. Alice also gained experience as a regular teaching assistant in Nursery and Reception, as well as nannying older children and teenagers, so is used to working with young people of all ages. Alice has also been trained in preparing students for the 11+ to London schools with our in house education consultant.
Alice holds both a Distinction in her Masters from UCL, and a First (with special commendation for receiving the top mark in her year) from Manchester University, and so values hard work and passion for learning. Working as a documentary filmmaker now, she has an eager interest in the world, and looks to bring the same passion and enthusiasm to her classes.
“My son got a scholarship (we found out today), so we are very grateful for all Emmanuel did. My son really enjoyed the tutorials; they gave him confidence and polished his exam technique.”
Tom Fenton is a marvellous tutor, striking a perfect balance of erudition, encouragement, judicious pressure, kindness and humour. His work with my daughter produced stellar results in the form of three scholarships; I can’t recommend him too highly.
