“Rob really helped our boy turn a corner with his written English. He was struggling to make the same progress that he was making in other subjects and his school teachers were struggling to unlock the problem. They tried but with other children in the class there is a limit to what the school could achieve. Likewise we tried, but it was quickly clear to us that sometimes you need a specialist with skills, patience and independent perspective. Rob brought those aspects, and his engaging style made it hard for our son not to follow his lead. Most importantly Rob connected in a way that made it so much fun that it never became a challenge or a chore. We never had to encourage or cajole our son before the sessions, he absolutely loved every minute. He looked forward to Rob coming and was disappointed when he left. His sister was jealous she wasn’t getting the same treat – praise indeed! As result a fix was quickly made, our son is now up to speed with his peers and we have all learned some techniques to capture his imagination and keep using. Although we were initially hesitant, with the benefit of hindsight the money we spent on tutoring was probably one of best investments we ever made.”
“Rob did a good job in preparing our son aged 9 for entrance to Dulwich College Junior School. He works well with younger children, and is knowledgeable as to what schools like Dulwich College require. Although he was strong in all areas, our son’s Creative Writing progressed particularly well, which can often be a key requirement in assessments. He was always flexible, and my son very much enjoyed working with him.”
